Karma is a thing, and our current climate of democratic insanity feels like blowback for centuries of American horror stories.
Comrade Hermit (Nicky Reid)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15143429283240217518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5903948190815094163.post-19629601911125977832020-11-02T00:23:52.997-08:002020-11-02T00:23:52.997-08:00"You come across to me as a thoughtful, smart..."You come across to me as a thoughtful, smart person with a traumatic history"

My own perception is that Nicky is at least quite brilliant, although this perception may be enhanced by the fact that she has a lot of time on her hands and can therefore study and think without distractions.

The "traumatic" history: Yes, I find it extremely sad that she was so messed up by the attempts to make her conform to society's norms that she hasn't been able to even have even the beginnings of a romantic relationship. I have been very lonely most of my life, but have at least had enough love thrown my way that I consider life to have been worth living. The DSM itself is controversial and not all professionals support it, even if they have to for insurance purposes. Personally, I think mental health is for everyone, and all people can benefit from (good) counseling/therapy. Good therapists also don't try to make someone who they are not or project expectations onto someone.

IMO, we live in an unhealthy society. Rather than "crazy" you are a human being with a story. You come across to me as a thoughtful, smart person with a traumatic history, and having been brought up in a context that did not suit you in terms of acceptance and belonging, which is a fundamental human need. Perhaps the only kind of "democracy" I truly support: defending ourselves from the state. The Borghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04928718850468526199noreply@blogger.com
